What is an Eco Market?
For us Eco means sustainable, organic, recycled and recyclable, ethically produced.
Our market has eco-friendly cleaning products, organic skin & hair care, raw organic honey, organic teas, bamboo clothes & shopping bags, organic cotton shirts and clothing, organic
cotton underwear, handmade moccasins, organic soil improver & Bio Char, local organic/bio-dynamic produce, books and magazines, ethically produced and fair trade gift ware, toxin free face painting, Calendula products from KI, organic cake & tea/coffee, organic breakfasts & light lunches, a big swap/share/gift table (produce and books, clothes) musicians, guest speakers.
Over the past year because of running the Green Light Festival Willunga, we have had many requests to hold the festival every month. There are many in our community who were crying out for an Eco Market. Our Southern Vales area is brimming with green and eco minded folk, and there are many more moving to our area because it is known as an environmentally aware and responsible community. The Onkaparinga Council fosters this with their strong emphasis on sustainability. We also have the Aldinga Arts and Eco Village and the Willunga Waldorf school in our area.
Our market supports local businesses and small farmers to make them grow and become stronger. Our market helps to create a green eco hub that will help make our community stronger and more resilient.
We have a strict criteria with each stall displaying how their product or food has been made and what has gone into it.
This is to provide total transparency for the customer.
